Aug. 19th, 2004 01:28 pmMy mom bought me a digital thermometer for my first-aid kit this morning from the PX.
I was examining the packaging and this is what I found:
- The UPC code - of course. Obviously this is standard for anything you buy. 12 digits still, naturally.
- A magnetic strip. Also pretty common nowadays to control shoplifting and the like.
- The shocker: an RFID chip. I guess these are getting more common in packaging, but it still surprised me that a thermometer (of all things) would have one of these on its packaging.
