Let me start that it was nothing like what I had expected. But what weird day ever is? Also, I will not identify the person to whom I am referring in this log, although she will know who she is, as may some others. I do not hold a grudge or anything against this person, in fact, it has actually revealed some very nice things about her in all.

Well, with the brief intro done, I suppose I will start into my history of today [well, friday]. For perhaps a day or two, I had been planning on asking someone to hc, and of course I really had no chance to do it on thursday, seeing as I was on a field trip. I did have a chance to ask as she was leaving im that night but I neglected to do so. Thus, I decided that I would try my very hardest to find out if she already had a date, and if not, to ask her to hc. I gathered all the necessary info - her schedule, 8th period, etc. (who am I if I don't gather info like this?) So I began the search process. I arrived at school about 7:45-7:50. I dropped off my hatbox in the band room, picked up my math book from my locker, and did a quick sweep of the halls to try and locate my subject. No luck. I drop off my backpack at my first class, goto the band room to check on the status of the hall march, then complete another hall sweep. Still no sign of her. So I go back to the band room, march around in the hall march for a while, and have fun. Afterwards, I went to a location that she usually always occupies during the mornings. No signs of her still, so I goto my first class.

After my first class, I dropped off my stuff at my second class and start monitoring the halls again. I happen to see her, but was too suprised to do anything. I run into Keith and start walking towards her classroom, but there's no way I can do anything. I go back to my second class.

After my second class was lunch, obviously. I dropped off my backpack outside and went back inside to hopefully intercept her somewhere in the halls. My luck, I intercept her in the doorway, utterly useless. I wander a bit, trying to make it non-obvious, then come back to lunch.

Hoping for a chance after lunch to ask, I wait around up till about 12:29 to see if she will break off from her group. My luck, she joins with some other people going to her next class, and as it IS 12:29, and my next class teacher is a real stickler about time, I RUN.

I decide to waste no time trying to find her during break. I nearly run from my last class downstairs towards where her previous class was, not to see her. I look up the room number of the 8th period she was signed up for afaik, and then headed to my 8th period class to drop off my stuff. I goto the room where she is going, not there. I then head towards the audlob and HARK, I find her. Problem is, she's with several of her friends. I start circling the audlob, trying not to be obvious, searching for a moment when I can ask her. None comes up, and at 2:19, I was forced to run to my 8th period.

After my 8th period, I run to where she had hers; unfortunately, the room is empty with no sign of her. I run to the audlob, can't find her. So I go do my mb duties and help get everything set up. I ended up not seeing her till sometime midway through the assembly, in the crowds. I later found out that at some time during this assembly somebody (!me) asked her to hc. I didn't know it at the time, and of course, not knowing my intentions, she said yes. [A perfectly acceptable response.]

After the assembly, I started to take back the pit stuff from the band room, still looking for her. I can't find her, so after getting everything back to the band room, I take one more hall sweep. Can't find her.

I keep on the lookout for her but doubt seeing her from then till the game. I didn't see her till our pit warm ups on the track. We had been previously discussing hc dates, and I said that I had meant to ask someone but didn't. I did not want to say who it was, and didn't. Until...she showed up while we were practicing and waved and said hi. That was enough evidence for Gilenne; she asked "Was that girl the person you were wanting to ask?" I blushed and said "No Comment," effectively a yes.

With this information, the pit girls [some of whom actually know her] try and convince her to come up to the stands where I am. They try to make me ask her, but do you think I want to do that in front of the whole band and then some? She started to leave, then they pulled her back. They told her that I had been planning to ask her to hc, and she informed them she had a date. They then told her to run, and she did. I indirectly assumed she had a date, which was kind of sad. That, and the fact that the football game was really bad, made for a not-so-great evening.

I came home sad-faced because just about everyone else I knew had a hc date and I didn't, and I was so sure I would've been able to go with her. Just the day before some intelligence had informed me that she was dateless, and infact, at that time, she was.

Well, although this story is sad, there's more to it than just this. When I came home, she im'd me and we talked about the whole issue. It ends up that she would have gone with me had I asked before she was "dated", and I found out [to my agony] that she had been asked at the assembly. I also found out that she was actually worried for me at the game after the incident, which kinda shocked me. All in all, I am now less sad than I was earlier; somehow talking about things can often make things better.

Well, that sums up at least a lot of my weird day. I probably forgot a lot; oh well, I'll add it later. My offer for going to hc with someone is still out; im me if interested! ;)
