OldJournal: ye olde drumline sleepover

jgraftonYesterday was the drumline sleepover. It was interesting, though I think last year's was better. Anyway, time for a personal narrative again. :)
Yesterday was pretty much a typical even day, except no Jenny. :( Thus I couldn't talk to her between classes. It was strangely quite strange. Anyway, after school, the fun began. I learne that we were headed to Springfield Mall instead of Landmark Mall. Sollosi and I warned the others of the "Zero Tolerance" policy, and most people ignored us. Nonetheless, we congregated at the ill-marked entrance two and preceded, all 15-20 of us, to the food court. I was quite surprised that we didn't get stopped along the way. After food we went arcading for a while then wandered the halls. It was quite surprising in our escapades at Springfield Mall that we didn't get caught even once, even though we were a large and obvious group. Go figure, 6 harmless teenagers get stopped, yet a rowdy group of 15-20 don't. Humph.
We then went back to Nick's house and started playing a modified game of football in which the ball is punted and you have one play to return the ball. Then the roles switch. We had to go out onto a field that had high-voltage buzzing power lines overhead, a water main, and a gas line underneath. Thankfully none of these exploded. Lance, however, did get hit hard in the head by Yano. He was on the ground for a few minutes, then got up and tried to regain himself. He started by saying he had no clue where we were, what we were doing, what day it was, what time it was, or how he got to Nick's house.
We kept talking to Lance to see if he was ok. He really did not remember that we had gone to Landmark Mall; he kept "assuming" that it was a friday. He asked me for the time at least 30 times, if not more. He later fainted twice and sorta threw up. It was at this time that we decided to tell Mrs. Blalock. Unable to reach Lance's parents, Mrs. Blalock, Lance, and Austin went off to the urgent care center. The rest of us went on a mission to try and contact Lance's parents. Eventually we made contact with them; they took Lance to the hospital for a cat scan, and Lance went home as he had a slight concussion.
After Austin and others returned, we proceeded to watch 2 movies: Legally Blonde and Heartbreakers. They were in decending order, but they were both pretty good. After that Nick B. started to play Dune; it was at this time that pretty much everyone fell asleep.
Upon waking up we were treated to a very nice and complete breakfast by Mrs. Blalock. Overall the sleepover was fun I think, but the Lance injury took a bit away from it, and I oddly really did like the walk to the park we took last year. Oh well, here's to next year.
