Hmmmm...it's been quite a while since I last posted an entry (*almost* a week, wow!) A lot of stuff has happened, yet a lot hasn't. I guess I'll start by stating that I missed the meteor shower; I had intended to wake up but my watch alarm befailed me. Oh well, 'tis ok. What else? This was a short week, which was good...had PALS in french, icky, but ok. My brother's back from Columbus, and it's cool to see him. It's weird, after a certain age, the brother rivalry dies and it becomes a friendship again. Last night (actually, 2 nights ago, Thanksgiving) we had the Jacksons come over for turkey. The turkey itself was huge (22 lbs!) and it set the oven on fire briefly and almost burned my dad's foot...well, not the turkey, but the grease thereof. We're all fine now, so that's good, and the turkey was good.

Then came today. We went Christmas tree shopping this morning and found a tree pretty quickly. I have pictures of our search, look for them on zenith soon. After our tree search, we had lunch, then came home. A few hours later, I went out with Jenny, Laura, and Sollosi to Reston Town Center. We went ice skating, had dinner, saw a movie, and wandered for a while. It was great (inside joke).

Details of the date, for those who are curious: First we went ice skating, from about 3:15 till 5:00. I had really never been ice skating before, except maybe when I was really really young, and I wasn't very good then. Thus, it was pretty much a new experience for me. The others had been skating at least once in the past few years, some more than others. That being said, I was actually becoming pretty mediocre by the end of it, falling only every 5 mins or so. I did manage to cut my finger once, and I had a bad fall in which I bruised my arm, but it was quite fun.

Following that, we went searching for a place to eat. After wandering for a while, we settled on the China Town restaurant. Sollosi and I had the same thing, Jenny and Laura the same thing. It was good, and I think they were quite happy when we left. ;)

We then went to see Shallow Hal. The movie was ok, not as good as Bandits, and some parts were a little...interesting. It was ok though.

Next was our hour of wandering/staying warmness. We walked around a lot, hugging quite often to warm each other up, and occasionally stopping in shops to warm ourselves therein. Tonight was the night that the Christmas tree was lit up, but we were unfortunately were eating at the time. It's all good though, it was still really pretty (and will be for several more weeks). It's weird, I haven't had much Christmas spirit for years, yet simply being there tonight was already putting me in the mood. Go figure. It was a good and fun night.
