This picture was taken by me about two weeks ago, before we'd had inordinate amounts of rain (3" or so on the 8th, nearly 6" last Friday):


You can see that everything looks pretty normal; calm rivers, the point is above water and visible, and so on.

Dude. Just wait for a big spring thaw. We get one of those once every 8-10 years or so; last one was in.. I wanna say '96. [though with the extreme mildness of the last few winters, maybe climate change is going to disallow this in the future.]

But yeah. In addition to having river levels higher than this, there's also cold and iceberg-like chunks of.., well, ice.
