Oct. 24th, 2005 11:57 amIt occurs to me that I haven't updated since my rather angstastic post last week. Suffice it to say that the weekend was good, relaxing and so forth, and I had fun with people's company and eating food. I might be more detailed later, but more likely not.
Recently, I've been somewhat fascinated by LJ's schools directory, occasionally checking it to see if anybody from my elementary or middle school years added themselves to see if I canstalk talk to long-lost friends. So far, I've been rather unsuccessful, though - it seems everyone I know from that period either doesn't use livejournal or doesn't feel like being stalkable.
This then leads me to check out my elementary and middle schools' websites, and to learn that nearly all the teachers I had or knew have now left. I'm pretty sure the only remaining faculty at my elementary school are the art teacher and the librarian, and I expect they'll probably remain there for close to forever. I only recognize a few names from my middle school, which is more surprising, but I guess it also makes sense - you can only really tolerate middle schoolers for so long.
I'm somewhat curious to try to track down long-lost teachers and friends from years ago, if only to talk to them about life and experiences and such. I obviously don't have anything more than names, but I'm sure enough google-stalking would lead me places. It makes me wonder if any of them would actually be interested/interesting, though, as nobody has yet tracked me down, and I'm fairly sure I'm one of the more easily stalked persons... ah well.
Maybe one of these days I'll be curious and motivated enough to try it. We'll see. (If you happen to be one of these long-lost persons who happened to stumble onto my LJ, talk to me. I'd be interested.)

Freaky.

Date: 2005-10-24 09:18 pm (UTC)So, yeah... My good rl friends from any period of my life I'm still marginally in contact with (have their aims, poke them occasionally). The rest, I don't have too much of a desire to talk to.
I've been doing something eqiuvalent recently, though, which is stalking people I used to hang out with on IRC :D (you know you're a geek/fucked up script kiddy when...). There are a lot of people I grew up on IRC with who have ended up in fairly interesting places, so it's kind of a kick just to trade storeis.
