I'm contemplating buying two sets of these lights soon with the intent of hacking them (and having a backup in case I screw up). Shipping sucks, but it seems I can save money with multiple orders - so does anybody else (in the Pittsburgh area) want to buy any Christmas lights (they have more standard ones, too... check out their store)?

Let me know by tomorrow or so, since I plan to place an order soon.

Later there will have to be a feasibility study to see whether the lights actually are hackable, but I have high hopes... might need some ECE types to help me a bit, though.

Order from Amazon. Over $25 gets free shipping.

I might be interested... don't have time to look right now, but poke me before you buy them and I'll let you know...

Our precious mother needs beautiful strings of light strung back and forth across her to emphasize the glory that is BLOCK OF CONCRETE.

Do you know what happened to the lights tech put up there? If not, we should order some for more different hacking :)

I certainly am not slacking off from OS to read LiveJournal....

That aside, I and my phase-locked duplicate might be up for getting a fairly sizable batch of these. A certain building would enjoy them, I'm sure, and the thought of a spectrum analyzer on the Fence is too good to pass up.

Slightly off topic, but Jeff:

a) Have you seen the blue lights on the SV1?

and

b) If you have, do you share my opinion that if we're going to keep them, they're gonna need to be diffused a bit to look any good?

Okay. Moffingston put them in, but we've kept 'em. They're installed inside the doors, which is why they aren't diffused at all. Yeah, kind of tacky.
